PRODUCTIONS

haunted 2019

An isolated woman quietly organizes her life around a man that may not exist, or a ghost that might. Unable to leave her home and tormented by a persistent knock on the door, she becomes bound in a self-induced prison, tempted and terrified by the unknown outside.
This solo performance reflects on the uncanny, the demands of a multifaceted existence, and how our greatest desires are buried in our greatest fears.

About an Octopus 2016

The Octopus: fascinating, poorly understood, and often grouped under the misnomer "octopi". In this absurdist and darkly comic dance theater work, the doomed cephalopod faces the miracles and pitfalls of its isolated existence. Among larger philosophical crises (Existentialism! Dehumanization! Individualism!), the octopus will tackle the day to day challenges of octopus dating, octopus wrestling, octopus anxiety, and more. Via these unexpected protagonists, "About an Octopus" looks at the "other" as simply another view of us. (45 minutes)

Current Cast: Bridget Cronin, Susan Steinman, Ellie Weinman, and Aimee Plauche

Original Cast: Cassandra Cotta, Bonnie O'Rourke, Therese Ronco, and Aimee Plauche

Trains And Hurricanes 2015

Four slightly tipsy old-timey train workers have been dropped off in the middle of a swamp, only to be left behind by the next train that comes through. At this in-between place, they humorously deal with where they are, where they came from, and where they may or may not be going. Inspired by Southern roots and Northern sensibility, Trains and Hurricanes is a funny and poignant exploration of home. (60 minutes)

Original Cast: Hannah Barnard, Emily Petry, Rachel Bier, and Aimee Plauche, with contributions by Shiloh Hodges and Alexandra Taylor.

"Trains and Hurricanes" was originally presented at BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange as part of their visitors program, a subsidized rental program, and was a self production by Aimee Plauche. SHORT WORKS

winter night sky 2017

“winter night sky” explores the terror in destruction and the glorious beauty of rebirth. Three ethereal beings dance with passionate ferocity contrasting with cold frigidity. Each section emulates a different element of a winter night: smoke (mystery), wind (liberty), trees (exaltation), snow (grief), and fire (rebirth). Infused with yearning and mysticism, "winter night sky" captures the exhilaration of a winter night’s icy magic. (15 minutes)

Premiere Cast: Bridget Cronin, Ellie Weinman, and Aimee Plauche

Presented as part of the Director's Choice Showcase at Spoke the Hub.

Galoshes of Remorse: 2013

A lonely, awkward, and unattractive woman falls in love with her umbrella. In this silly piece, involving lollipops, lipstick, and galoshes, we remember the pangs of isolation that accompany the dreams of having a soulmate.

Various Iterations presented at WAXworks, Spoke the Hub's Winter Follies, and NACHMO.
